Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or chunks (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan or microwave. Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips or chunks if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool before cutting into squares.
